Do You Think Good Boxers Will Be Good Tennis Players?

they have good coordination, quickness, footwork, endurance, agility, etc. they also know how to shift their weight properly to create a powerful punch which can be used for performing a forehand, backhand, etc. if they were taught to play tennis, can we expect them to learn faster and play better than other average tennis players? which athletes from other sport can we expect to be good at tennis?

  1. I agree that all the attributes you’ve listed are needed to excel at tennis… However, there is more to tennis than the physical aspects. For example, a tennis serve is just as complex if not more complex than a golf swing.
Additionaly, there is the mental aspect of the game… A boxer would have an advantage being experienced performing in an individual sport.

  2. some characteristic transfer over but the punching motion and a tennis swing are completely different. for any sport if you have quickness, good footwork, endurance agility your gonna be physically able to be good. But each sport requires different actions and its whether or not the person is good at the action that determines whther or not the person will be better at the sports.

  3. Every good athlete can modify their game in any sport!!!

  4. i think people who play squash, badminton and table tennis can adjust a little bit quick to play tennis. They are all sorta the same concept. just different feel.
