tennis ball are made pressurised (for bounce) and are stored in cans. the cans are also pressurised so that if the balls are stored for ages somewhere, then they wont lose their bounce during that time until someone opens the can and lets out the pressure. the pull tab lets you release the pressure and start playing with them, they lose pressure eventually after hitting with them and become flat.
It is possible for air to deteriorate the surface of the ball thus reducing its ‘bouncyness’ and speed coming off the surface.
Because we don’t all carry a can opener around in our tennis bag. Also, the cans are pressurized so they have to be sealed somehow.
the cans have the tops because when air gets to the balls they loose their bounce
i guess it is like food and they keep there bounce better when there seled but idk
